Viet Luan Tran is a 3D Artist and Workflow Engineer with more than 30 years of experience in digital creation. His journey began in the early 1990s, working with 3D Studio for DOS and AutoCAD 12, long before modern rendering systems existed. Over the decades, he refined his craft through architectural visualization, product design, character sculpting, and pipeline development, gaining a deep understanding of both artistic expression and technical precision.
Today, Viet Luan focuses on advanced Blender workflows, daylight simulations, and the development of custom tools and add-ons that streamline production processes for professionals and studios. His work combines engineering logic, creative intuition, and a strong sense of visual clarity — resulting in solutions that reduce complexity, save time, and maintain high-quality output.

A specialized add-on was developed to enhance architectural modeling, material workflows, and visualization pipelines. The goal was to streamline processes and increase consistency across architectural projects. This tool became a key part of efficient 3D architectural production.


First custom Blender add-ons were created to automate tasks and solve specific project requirements. These tools supported both internal workflows and client assignments. The role expanded from 3D artist to tool developer.


The work evolved toward organic modeling, digital sculpts, and refined character design. Blender and ZBrush became the key tools for expressive digital sculpting. This period marked the beginning of developing a unique artistic style in character creation.


Switching to Blender transformed the entire workflow from the ground up. The open, flexible platform offered more speed, freedom, and creative possibilities. This became a true “game changer” for all future projects.


The focus shifted to product visualization, furniture design, and precise hard-surface modeling. Studio-light setups and advanced material simulations were refined. The resulting renderings achieved a clean, photographic, studio-quality look.


The work expanded into film production and visual effects. 3D Studio Max was used to create dynamic scenes, simulations, and detailed VFX shots. This phase deepened the understanding of cinematic composition and professional VFX workflows.


Architectural visualization became the central focus, from detailed construction drawings to atmospheric interior and exterior scenes. The blend of technical planning and aesthetic 3D design enhanced interdisciplinary expertise. Projects were executed holistically — from concept to final render.


Combining 3D Studio Max, V-Ray, and Viz enabled more realistic lighting, accurate materials, and higher-quality renderings. Advanced workflows for architecture and product design were developed. Rendering quality reached a new professional level.


Moving to Windows opened the door to more powerful tools and modern production pipelines. With 3D Studio Max, creating more complex models and animations became possible. This period strengthened the focus on professional visualization.


The first steps into 3D visualization started with 3D Studio for DOS. Despite limited computing power, the fascination for spatial representation and digital imagery quickly grew. This era marked the transition from technical drawing to creative 3D expression.


The journey began with technical drafting in AutoCAD 12 for DOS, laying the foundation for precise engineering work. This period built a strong understanding of structural planning and technical accuracy. These early skills still shape today’s clean and efficient 3D workflows.
